St.Thomas Central School is a prestigious, co-educational Institution, established by The Mar Thoma Church Educational Society (MTCES) in November 1990. Our school is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi under the Affiliation Number 930076. The well furnished school building 9108sq.metres sets the ambience and atmosphere for quality education.

Students are given every opportunity to demonstrate excellence in curricular and co-curricular activities. We kindle in our students an aura of kindness, empathy and integrity. The school prepares students for the All India Secondary School Examination and All India Senior School Certificate Examination conducted by the CBSE. The School has a team of well qualified and experienced teachers.

The school was started out of a circumstantial necessity that arouse out of the Kuwait War. The massive displacement of the nonresident Keralites who had to leave behind all their investment and assets in Kuwait and return to Kerala .The difficulties in finding a suitable CBSE school that could provide quality education to their children added on to their agony and confusion. It was then The Marthoma Church Educational Society came up with an innovative idea of a CBSE school, since its establishment in 1990 St. Thomas Central School has set a landmark in the educational history of Thiruvanathapuram moulding a number of talented young men and women and grooming them into worthy citizens.

In November 1991 Rt.Rev Dr.Joseph Mar Iraneus, President, Mar Thoma Church Educational Society laid the foundation stone of the new school building in St. Thomas Nagar, Mukkolakkal,. In the year 1993 Honourable Minister of Human Resources Mr. Arjun Singh inaugurated the building where the school now functions in a sprawling educational campus of around 28 acres in Thiruvananthapuram city.

Hostel facility is provided to the students (Boys & Girls separately), which is under the supervision of Boarding Superintendent and the resident members of the staff who take care of the inmates of the hostels. Provision is made for supervised study and homework. The hostel rules are available with the Boarding Superintendent.
